    HDX Broom Holder

A quick project to hang an HDX Broom on a wall. I didn’t bother looking to see if anyone has already designed one since this is a easy design. The intent is to print the broom wall mount in white ABS and then to attach it to drywall with two #6 x 1-1/2” drywall screws.

After a quick CAD session I have the following.

Now to slice the wall mount and send it to the printer.

The part split at the layer lines due to being forced a bit past what it could handle. For the second attempt the layers lines will be at a 90 degree angle from the bending motion. By making this change, the part should be quite a bit more durable.

Some adjustments need to be made to the ends in order to print the part without supports. The broom wall mount is quite a bit more simple now, due to the removed mounting tabs. This change shouldn’t have any negative affects on the component. Time to slice the part and get printing.

The second attempt seems to be working well. The wall mount has a satisfying snap when the broom is inserted. There is not quite enough tension to hold the broom without it sliding down and hitting the end cap of the broom. I don’t think the material is grippy enough to really hold it without sliding or being overly tight. It will suit my needs for now
