1:64 Scale RC Car Ramps

My son requested some ramps for his 1:64th scale Hot Wheels RC Car. We had previously made ramps out of thin sections of cardboard and tape, but it is time for something a bit more permanent.

Design and CAD

When making the rear wedges for Pulse 001 I noticed how fine of a ramp I could print in TPU. This idea is the starting point for this project.

The profile of the ramp is just a simple curve that is extruded and then the edges and corners are filleted to smooth them out.

Slicing and Printing

ABS will be utilized this time around, mostly to see how it holds up with that thin front edge.

Completed Component

The edge of the ramp is fairly fragile. This type of edge would be better suited to a flexible material. Works well as a ramp though.
