Windows Hotkeys
- General Navigation:
- Win: Open or close the Start menu.
- Win + D: Show or hide the desktop.
- Alt + Tab: Switch between open applications.
- Alt + F4: Close the currently active window.
- Win + L: Lock your computer and go to the login screen.
- Window Management:
- Win + Left Arrow: Snap the current window to the left side of the screen.
- Win + Right Arrow: Snap the current window to the right side of the screen.
- Win + Up Arrow: Maximize the current window.
- Win + Down Arrow: Minimize the current window or restore it if it's maximized.
- Shift + Win + Left/Right Arrow: Move the current window to the next monitor (if you have multiple monitors).
- Taskbar and Start Menu:
- Win + number (1-9): Open or switch to the corresponding taskbar item.
- Win + T: Cycle through the taskbar items.
- Win + B: Select the notification area (system tray).
- Win + E: Open File Explorer.
- Win + X: Open the Quick Link menu (Windows 8 and later).
- Virtual Desktops (Windows 10 and later):
- Win + Ctrl + D: Create a new virtual desktop.
- Win + Ctrl + Left/Right Arrow: Switch between virtual desktops.
- Win + Ctrl + F4: Close the current virtual desktop.
- Accessibility and Ease of Access:
- Win + +: Zoom in (Magnifier).
- Win + -: Zoom out (Magnifier).
- Ctrl + Esc: Open the Start menu (if you don't have a Windows key).
- Win + U: Open the Ease of Access Center.
- System Utilities:
- Win + Pause/Break: Open System Properties.
- Win + R: Open the Run dialog.
- Ctrl + Shift + Esc: Open Task Manager.
- Alt + Print Screen: Capture a screenshot of the active window.
- Clipboard and Text Editing:
- Ctrl + C: Copy selected text or items.
- Ctrl + X: Cut selected text or items.
- Ctrl + V: Paste copied or cut text or items.
- Ctrl + Z: Undo the last action.
- Ctrl + Y: Redo the last action.
