Iteration Frame Assembly
Order of Operations
These are intended to be my own personal notes, hence callouts for specific tools, but someone may get some use out of either the way the procedures are documented or the actual procedures themselves.
- Add the wheel dead-shafts to the Weapon Rails with 1/4-20 x 5/8” Flathead Screws
- 5/32” Hex Drive with 8 set on the M12 Milwaukee Driver
- The Shaft will be pulled 10mm into the frame via the flathead screw
- Utilize Loctite 243 on the screw
- Connect Rear Panel to Right Weapon Rail with 3x #10x1.5” Plastite screws
- Ensure pockets are facing in
- T20 Bit with 12 set on the M12 Milwaukee Driver
- Connect the Cross Member to the Right Weapon Rail with 3x #10x1.5” Plastite screws
- Ensure pockets are facing in
- By assuming that Weapon Rail that is currently attached is the right side and attaching the Cross member to it with the three hole side of it, the cross member will be properly aligned for the weapon assembly. The belt clearance section of it is not mirrored and there for needs to be in this orientation.
- Connect Left Weapon Rail to Rear Panel with 3x #10x1.5” Plastite screws
- Do not affix the Left Weapon Rail to the Cross Member at this point
- By leaving this disconnected it is easier to add the weapon assembly later
- Spread the Left Weapon Rail and Cross Member apart to add the weapon belt
- Attach a shaft collar to the end of the weapon shaft
- The ends of the collar and shaft should be flush
- Utilize Loctite 243 on the set screw of the collar
- The collar has a 1/8” hex drive
- Slide the non-collared sided of the weapon shaft into the Left Weapon Rail
- Add a thrust washer, thrust bear, and another thrust washer to the shaft
- Add the weapon assembly to the shaft
- Be sure to place the belt around the weapon pulley
- Add a thrust washer, thrust bear, and another thrust washer to the right side of the assembly
- Utilize the Thrust Gripper
- The Left Weapon Rail to Cross Member screw was left out to allow the assembly to be pulled apart slightly for this step
- Push the weapon shaft through the Right Weapon Rail and add another shaft collar to secure
- The ends of the collar and shaft should be flush but may need some adjustment depending on frame material and other tolerances.
- Utilize Loctite 242 on the set screw of the collar
- The collar has a 1/8” hex drive
- Ensure that the weapon spins freely
- Secure the Left Weapon Rail to the Cross Member with a #10x1.5” Plastite Screw
- Secure the Forks to the Weapon Rails with #10x1.25” Plastite Screws
